Pt. 1 (pp. 8-66) is a historical introduction to the Jewish world and its culture in the modern period until the rise of Zionism, including emancipation, assimilation, and ancient and modern antisemitism. Pt. 2 (pp. 68-100) contains documents, accompanied by short introductory notes and questions regarding the documents. Pt. 3 (pp. 102-125) presents excerpts from seven historiographic works.
